Український Фестиваль / Ukrainian Festival at Jean Vanier Catholic School

У  пятницю 25 січня 2013 року в школі  Jean Vanier  Catholic School  проходив  Український Фестиваль.  Усе дійство було побудовано у вигляді дванадцяти станцій - зупинок.

Мандруючи кожною із них,  можна було дізнались багато цікавої інформації про Україну. 

Учні школи, котрі презентували всі зупинки-стації разом із своєю вчителькою панею Лесею Погорецькою

Було продемонстровано  важливі події та елементи української культури, зокрема важливі події з  історії  України, життя видатних людей (Тараса Шевченка,  братів Кличків, Андрія Шевченка  тощо), міста (Київ та Львів), першопоселенців,  українську вишиванку, книги,  фільми, музику та багато іншого.

Діти школи були волонтерами і презентували ці стації-зупинки гостям. Таким чином вони отримали змогу попробувати себе у ролі вчителів. На фестиваль приїжджали учні сусідніх шкіл і відвідали усі стації-зупинки. Їх навчали українським словам, пісням. Їм показували мультики українською мовою, кліпи видатних українських співаків.  Діти також ознайомились з українською традиційною вишивкою.

Цей фестиваль був  надзвичайно цікавим. Він розкрив  усю повноту української  культури  і традицій.

Дуже дякуємо Лесі Погорецькій  та Влодкові Бойчуку за організацію такого гарного фестивалю! А учням 6, 7, 8 класів Jean Vanier  Catholic School  за їхню чудову підготовку.

Українська вишиванка

On Friday, 25th January 2013, at Jean Vanier Catholic School Ukrainian Festival was held. The whole performance was built in the form of  twelve stations. While wandering through each of them, all could learn much information about Ukraine.

The important events and elements of the Ukrainian culture were presented there, mainly important events from Ukrainian history, the life of outstanding people, such as Taras Shevchenko, Klitchko brothers, Anriy Shevchenko and others, very  necessary information about cities (Kyiv and Lviv), the life of the first settlers, the history of Ukrainian embroidery, books, music etc.

The students from school played the roles of volunteers and presented the stations to guests. In this way they could act as teachers. Students from neibouring schools visited the festival and they could attend all stations. At the festival all visitors  were taught Ukrainian words, songs, were shown Ukrainian cartoons and clips of famous Ukrainian singers. The students were presented Ukrainian embroidery as well.

The festival appeared to be very exciting. What is more, such events help reveal the completeness of Ukrainian culture and traditions.
